Sonia Delaunay (1885-1979) was of Ukrainian origin, although she spent much of her life in Paris and Madrid. Together with her husband they created the Cubist side of Simultaneous Art.
Over time, and especially due to having to go into exile in the Spanish capital during the Second World War, it ended up being her husband who sold more paintings than her. But Sonia never stopped being active, in reality, she was the one who led the economy of the house, since in difficult times she knew how to transfer her abstract art to more affordable sectors such as design and fashion, in order to to survive In this way, today her contribution is recognized as a true symbol of modernity, which Sonia knew how to understand very well in her time. Thus, in 1964 she was the first woman to have a monographic exhibition at the Musée du Louvre.
