Josefa Tolrá (1880-1959) was an artist and medium from Cabrils, the Maresme. Where he was born and lived all his life. His work is characterized by his great spiritual sensitivity. Part of his work was created through embroidery, an art always relegated to women. She was practically illiterate, and the little instruction she received was in this technique. He started creating when he was about 60 years old, in the midst of the Franco dictatorship. During the civil war she lost several children, which strongly connected her to death and the afterlife. It is said that his artistic beginnings coincide with the moment he began to have contact with something from another plane. That is why his work was full of beings of light. But not only this made his work unique, but also because he never had contact with any artistic current of the moment or of the past.
